BS Multimedia Arts is exciting because you get to exhaust yourself into animation, graphic design, photography, web design, and even 3D. It’s perfect for students who love exploring, but it can also make it hard to focus on what you really want to master.
Challenges in Studying Multimedia Arts
Too Many Projects at Once
In many cases, students have to work on projects from completely different fields at the same time. For example, you might be working on an animation project while also finishing a graphic design task or a photography assignment. Because of this, it sometimes feels like you are constantly trying to keep up rather than fully improving your skills.
Hard to Master Your Favorite Field
For someone who wants to focus on animation, for example, having to dedicate equal effort to other areas can make it harder to spend enough time practicing and improving in animation itself. Instead of developing strong expertise in one field, students sometimes feel like they are only scratching the surface of many.
The Reality After Graduating
Another nightmare is what happens after graduation. BS Multimedia Arts teaches you a little bit of everything. But employers? They expect you to be Thanos, with all the Infinity Stones in your hand, like animating one minute, designing the next, editing a video while solving a 3D model, and somehow still smiling like you didn’t just snap your own sanity out of existence.
You got the job? Congratulations! You are the team. Every. Single. Task. It’s like being handed the controls of a spaceship when you are only trained to drive a scooter.
Final Thoughts
BS Multimedia Arts is a playground for creativity, and honestly, that’s amazing. But sometimes, I wish we could spend more time mastering our chosen field instead of juggling everything at once. Finding that balance would make the program even stronger while having fun. And seriously, employers… we don't have the full set of Infinity stones, please keep that in mind.
